We’re finishing off Week 6 of Spring semester already? WILD. As quick as this semester has flown by, it’s been a stressful one. From finishing classes in my degree, to leadership positions in my organizations, and working all on top of that, whew… I. AM. EXHAUSTED.
Second semester is pretty rough. Spring Break is calling your name, however not before good ole midterms. y i k e s. But let’s not get too worked up, there are plenty of ways to survive these trying months. Pop some vitamin c pills, get out of bed, dress in layers (you never know what season is going to make a guest appearance next) and let’s get this show on the road baby!
Take some time to yourself
One of my favorite “me times” I have is going to the tanning bed. Those are 20 minutes just to myself to recollect myself from the chaos going on outside of the tanning salon, maybe take a little power nap? Plot your revenge on the bike that cut you off walking to class? Like I said, this is me myself and I time, do as you please.
Get a workout in!
Yeah I know you’ve heard it a MILLION times but working out really does make you feel better. Exercising releases endorphins and endorphins are the “feel good” chemicals that trigger a positive feeling in your body!
Treat Yo’self
Have a treat yourself day! Do whatever you want! Do something at home by yourself or go on a small shopping spree! Eat that Blue Bell ice cream! Do a face mask! Take a bath! You deserve it.
Branch out
Be selective about your vibes. Try having lunch with a couple of friends you haven’t caught up with in a while. It’s so refreshing to rekindle your friendship! Or finally…go out with a group that you haven’t really hung around your time here at college!
Whatever it is that you find comfort in, do it. College is hard but don’t let it take a toll on you. You’re working hard and you should always find time to do something for yourself!
XOXO,
