How often have you wondered where it would seem most suitable to wear Sam Houston hats? C’mon, you know at some point, you’ve thought that rocking a Bearkat lid might be a little out of touch. But there’s school pride, right? And with a history going as far back as 1879, there’s a lot of history of which to be proud.
Hats are an interesting thing. There was a time when they were quite fashionable, but they don’t pop up as often nowadays. Back in the 90s, white college caps became quite a fad, being worn by only the coolest kids. In fact, one could argue they were the precursor to the “bro” fads to be seen in recent years.
Current students at Sam Houston State University, as well as their dedicated alumni, are proud of their school. Sure, the same could be said about any student, but there’s something really special about the connection had between SHSU & its student body, past and present. This pride can be represented in a lot of different ways, but no bolder way exists than a Sam Houston hat.

One final consideration to make regarding Sam Houston hats is the level of etiquette one must have when thinking about where to wear said hat. Granted, a bright orange cap can really zhuzh up a tuxedo, but still. That said, when school pride & looking as fetch as possible are what it’s all about, sometimes causing a stir is all worth it.
