In 1856, arguably the best small town in Texas was founded. Roughly 70 miles southwest of Fort Worth lies Stephenville, Texas. With a population of around 19,320, Stephenville manages to keep it’s rural feel. Agriculture is Stephenville’s pre-eminent industry and Erath County leads the state of Texas in milk production. Manufacturing firms, education, health care services & retail are all the leading employers. Between Stephenville Independent School District & Tarleton State University, Stephenville has become the “City of Champions”.
Stephenville Independent School District has won a total of 8 State Championships in Football, Powerlifting, Volleyball & Girls Basketball…with many more anticipated for the future. Athletics isn’t the only thing the Yellow Jackets and Honeybees excel in…their Agriculture program is one of a kind!

Whether it’s Greek life, intramural sports, PANKUS, SGA, Texan Reps, TTM’s or degree specific organizations, there is a way for literally everyone to get involved. Over the years TSU has also been deemed “The Best Kept Secret in Texas” but with the growth rate, it’s looking like it’s not a secret anymore.
